Step back in time as you walk the Busby Head track past the historic gun emplacement at the harbour entrance. Carry on through the coastal forest track to Smugglers Cove where you can enjoy a swim and a picnic before heading over the farm track back to Urquharts Bay carpark. The Bream Head/Te Whara track with a summit at 476m above sea level, offers spectacular 360 degree views for those wanting a more challenging track.
The Town Basin marina precinct offers a great variety of cafes, restaurants and specialty shops, soak up the atmosphere of this international yachting hub while enjoying a coffee or meal. Take a stroll along the waterfront, see artwork by local artists. For the children our popular playground with a liberty swing (wheelchair accessible swing) is sure to delight. It is an easy walk to our city centre with attractive pedestrian mall set amongst the greenery.
There are walkways linking Onerahi through to the Town Basin and on to Parihaka Scenic Reserve then on to the AH Reed Kauri Park and Whangarei Falls. The tracks at AH Reed Kauri Park take you up into the Kauri tree canopy for a birds eye view of the bush.
